Toyota Sales Fall In Australia

Interesting article here about Toyotas sales falling in Australia. Especially the small part about the 86 falling by 29%. I wonder what this means in terms of the future for the twins, not sure on sales for the BRZ.

Pretty standard for 86 sales to fall. it's almost 4 years old now.

Plus the economy in Australia isn't as good as it was a few years ago. Many prospective new car buyers are forgoing upgrades in favor of saving for house deposits.

I would be curious to know if there are a bunch sitting around unsold or if the drop was anticipated and production was planned to match the demand.
Everybody is always ready to jump on the decreased sales bandwagon but when you dig deeper you find there are actually none available because that decrease was actually forecast and the number made adjusted accordingly. Car manufacturers are not fools and they plan decades in advance.

Yeah it's interesting. Economy probably does play a part in it, but I wonder what this means in terms of the future about the twins, I know there's various threads about it, but perhaps this fall in sales on last year in Australia may mean that there is potential for the refresh to occur soon. But this may be a while away.

Very interesting to know whether there are still some remaining unsold. I guess party of the fall in sales may be due to the car being 3 years old and the second hand car market being larger so people just buy second hand.

Yeah theyd have a good idea on sales predictions and that so I wonder where the forecasted sales were predicted to be and what the actual sales figures were and how far apart they are.

May not be to hard to figure out how many are around by checking the new car sales sites. Would be time consuming but could be done.

When it comes to planned production though it would be near impossible to find out. Unfortunately the people that know those numbers are so far up the food chain they will never, ever release them. Anybody that ever did could forget the auto industry as a career choice.
