Metro area dealer service dept that "gets it?"

For years I've felt that when I bring one of our Subies to our dealer for service they just don't really care. We hardly ever take the OB there, my last car (Crosstrek) was in and out with little niggling things but not too often and they made a ton of money on the bodywork from an accident I had and my FIL's Forester never needs anything because he hardly ever drives it. My BRZ on the other hand has been in a few times now for warranty work, I bought it CPO from them.

I had it in a few weeks ago with the squeaky clutch issue and they said it was the fuel pump chirping so they replaced that and told me not to bother bringing it back for the clutch issue because there isn't one. It's gotten to the point now that it's crunchy and sometimes stutters if I let the clutch out in first with the wheel turned like, when you leave a stop sign in the burbs or pull out of a driveway.

I'd like to bring it to a dealer that's been through this before and will deal with it and just get it done. Does anybody have anything good to say about their dealers service dept? Are there any enthusiasts in any of the dealer service departments that want to do the right thing the first time?

Sadly no. I haven't found a dealership that "gets it". Everytime I have brought my FRS for an issue; weather stripping squeak, HPFP chirping, turning off DRL's I have been forced to convince the service tech of these issues. Every symptom that is explained has been met w/ a dismissive attitude ie "we have never had people complain about this" / "I've never heard of this issue" [for the HPFP], "thats not possible" [to turn off DRL's + turn off annoying honk when you lock car], "don't go around looking for issues" [when I mentioned the window squeak during rainy weather].

I feel most of the enthusiasts are on the sales floor anyways and don't work in the service department. In my experience, majority of service tech's aren't knowledgeable about the cars they are servicing and def. not "enthusiast's". Honestly, it's hard to be enthusiastic if you are selling/servicing toyotas. I would expect more of the staff to be "enthusiasts" at a Porsche, Corvette dealership though.

You'll be hard pressed to find any car dealership that does "get it". The only reason service advisers exist is to be able to squeeze more money out of repairs, deny warranty work effectively and tell nice little lies. You don't deal directly with the tech for a reason anymore and it's not because their not great at customer service...

Yeah that's what I expected to hear. Was hoping otherwise but... I know better.

Anybody with anything good to say about the local dealers?

A few times over the years when I was up in VT and stopped at the dealer in Rutland I felt like I was treated right. Sounds silly but maybe I should take a ride up there, do some mt biking and get my car taken care of.
