Soft Touch Materials in car are easily scratched!
Just ran into this today, car key happened upon the material on the driver's side of the center console and it doesn't seem to be easily rubbed off.
The first of many interior scratches I'm sure, just wanted to throw out a warning for those trying to keep it showroom clean.

All new cars I've test driven are like this. The new Camero, Mustang, even a G37. I had this issue really bad with my 08 sentra, and since then any car I test drive, I find a non-visible spot and use my fingernail, every car so far has scratched.
My dodge trucks don't have this issue, but then again their interiors are HARD plastic everywhere.

I vacuumed the FR-S today and used the bristle brush...Didn't think it would be an issue. Once the sunlight hit the dash piec to the lef tof the radion I saw micro scratches. Pissed to say the least, but unless the sun is hitting it just right I don't see it. Be really careful. My wifes '11 sonata can take a much better beating than this thing.

Yeah I was trying to get something small off the steering wheel today with my fingernail and ended up putting a small scratch in it! After feeling some of the rubber type materials I kind of figured they would be easy to scratch.

What would be a great idea is if there was a template for the grain or pattern on the material. What you could do is clean the panel that you want to repair as best as you can so there are no contaminants, then use a heat gun to slightly melt the material. Then you could use a template that was the exact same pattern and size as the pattern on the material itself. After the rubber is slightly melted (not too much, just softer) you could press the template onto the panel to get rid of the scratches. Just an idea, but I don't think anyone makes such a template for this kind of thing.
So I guess you just gotta be careful. It was just an idea.

the interior is 1 million times better than the 2012 tC's. So far Ive been able to preserve the car pretty well after a month now.

I've found that most interior plastics are soft when the car is new. Given time they seem to harden up and become more durable.
