Car accident in Live Oak canyon

http://m.ocregister.com/articles/car...nyon-pole.html

Driver in his 20's is in critical condition after hitting a pole in the canyon. Be safe out there, I know everyone goes on a spirited drive once in a while and we can sometimes get carried away and forget the dangers of it.
This is my hometown canyon, and I know I've been through it once or twice at the top of 3rd in the middle of the night, which wasn't the brightest idea.
Know your limits, be careful not to test your limits on a public road, and be safe. I hate to see this shit happen. My heart goes out to this guy and his fam

Damn. I live 2 minutes away from Trabuco Canyon and have taken quite a few spirited drives through there. There's so many trees, sometimes wet spots or gravel on the road. I've also had deer nearly run out in front of me in the canyon. I hope he pulls through, tough to see someone local and my age have this happen.
@Estey you must live right near me, I'm in Foothill. You?

Yeah with road conditions constantly changing its a gamble to even run through. Even if you cruise through once to check all the surroundings and conditions, there's so many variables that can change in an instant.
I'm 20 too, so it's definitely more relatable in this case and crazy to think how things can take a bad turn when we still have an entire life ahead of us..
I was living in Trabuco hills, but just moved to Tustin this September. Cooks Corner was right down the street from me

That sucks.. Best of luck to the driver and his family.

Canyon is not a place to go all out and race. Do that only at the track. Keep the canyon cruises for fun with friends. Enjoy the drive and scenery.

Good luck to the driver,

I used to drive that road all the time when I was in RSM, down in San Clemente now so dont get many chances to go through there. Fun road but there is plenty of motorcycles during the weekend.

Scion two door? Is it an FRS? I feel like there is a good chance he might be on this forum if it's an FRS.

Hey guys it was me that crashed my frs. Still currently in the hospital.... And I miss my car just so much. I work at rsm and that's the road I drive daily to and from work. I believe I was going out to lunch at that point and crashed. However, I've lost all memories of that day.... So I dunno how fast I was driving or why I crashed.
