Slow leak on tires under warranty
Should I bring it in to a dealership to get it checked out? Or to an authorized Michelin seller like sears?
I have 2-3 months left in my warranty. It's mostly when it gets cold, and it compress, and triggers a low air pressure. Takes 2-3 weeks and it starts triggering. Thanks!

When it's cold fill it to 40 psi, and watch the pressure throughout the week, the TPMS light comes on when one of the tires is out of range of the others by 5 psi or if they are past the 40 psi mark I believe. I suggest you get the tires checked for leaks first.

Search the michelin website for details on the warranty. And then go to the dealer. Car warranty and tire warranty are separate as the tire is considered a wear item. If all four tires do it, I would say it is the gauge you are using. Gas station air gauges are always off a couple psi.

Nah, just 1, and 19k with a slow leak is just weird. I remember tires were case by case basis from but it's been too long.

So, the first thing I would check is the valve ...... remove the cap and smear some spit over the top of the stem to see if it bubbles out. Most likely your tire has picked up a sharp thing that is slowly letting the air out or a leak around the bead. If so, remove the wheel and tire and submerge it it a kids swimming pool to locate the leak. Then plug it with a kit. Oh hell, that's way too much work ...... just take it back to the dealer or a tire store and let them fix it ...... ![]() humfrz PS - even NEW tires can pick up stuff ....

First, go to dealer. Let them take measurements and drive it for like 10min. Then, have them test the psi. If no change then tell them you'll drive it around to run errands and bring it back later in the day. Do that and have them test psi again. If nothing happens, take wheel off, inflate it like 3 extra psi than what tire says, dump it with rim into tub full of water and try to see if any bubbles appear. If none, then it might be cold weather? Mine are off 2-3 lately. 29 both left tires and front right is 33, back right 32. edit: I just remembered I swapped my tires around a few days ago!

Not much to say other than, the tire has a puncture or it is the valve stem. Warranty does not cover road damage and it is unlikely a warranty claim.

If it is just one tire losing air that quickly my advice is not to waste your time going to the dealer. Take it to a good tire shop and have them check it out. Did you hit any pot holes before this started happening? Hopefully its just the tire and not a bent rim. |

Tire isn't a warranty item. O.O
Michelin has their warranty but most place not gonna help you go through the the trouble to cover it unless you brought the tire from them. (Or unless you know someone that works @ tire shop) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Take it to America's tire or something. They'll just fill it to near max PSI and dunk it in water. If you see bubbles then you have a leak. It's not under the 36k/3 year warranty because it's wear and tear. If it's a leak in the tread it's patchable. If it's on the shoulder it's not. If it's leaking from the stem (highly doubt it) then there's rubber seals inside to be replaced.
It shouldn't cost more than 10 dollars. America's tire/Discount tire patches tires for free even if you didn't buy it from them.
