New to the world of mods and tuning... Help me build my car

Hi Gang,

I recently bought a 2013 Scion FR-S and am chomping at the bit to turn this angry house cat into a fucking Tiger of the concrete Jungle. As my title mentions, I am new to the world of car modifications and tuning so help from you guys would really be appreciated.

I want to add another 100 WHP to this car but I want to do it in a way to both ensure I'm not going to blow my engine or its mounts to bits and also in way so as to not be redundant.... Is a Turbocharger enough or will I need to also add new mount bolts ? New exhaust ? A flex-fuel kit ?

I've got a budget of about 20K to spend over the next 2 years.... So if certain installs should be done before the next that info would be really helpful.

Thanks group

$20,000 is more than enough to get to 265rwhp. Can be done for as little as $3500 and can go up from there. Read through a few of the thousands of posts readily available.

From what I've seen, $20,000 is enough to get you a built FA20, probably sitting comfortably in the 350-400+whp range. Like woode said, there's thousands of exactly the same posts as yours, but they don't usually have the same high budget as you. Your best bet is to read through all the supercharger and turbo kit owners threads, basically the whole FI subforum, and find out which would suit you. When you find what you want, talk to the vendor/tuner/shop and have them guide you. They will know best.

Pay to ship your car to moto mike in PA. Tell him you want to be able to run the sprinted 335 including all engine upgrades and supporting mods. Give him the remaining balance of your 20k and tell him to ship it back when done

Done
