Oil temp and knock

I've been data logging a lot and I've noticed that as my oil temps go up I start to see some knock. iat seems to remain constant and afr varies at times but seems pretty constant as well. Does any one else see anything like this? I can duplicate the knock any time the oil temps are above 220 but below in the 200-210 range no knock. Chances are I'm missing something that a tuner would catch but I thought I'd post and see what others have to say. I'm installing a water to oil cooler hopefully tomorrow and will see if that changes any thing

Also I guess if anyone can explain how egts efffect things? I'm assuming if egts are high iats would be too but is there other areas that are impacted?

No heat issues with SBD setup, you are driving it too hard. Don't beat on it, baby steps bro.

You shouldn't ever be knocking. I recommend you consult with your tuner to get the knocking eliminated.

You can get your oil temp under 210 without an oil cooler??

High EGT = running rich and/or pulling timing. High IAT can lead to high EGT, but high EGT doesn't mean high IAT. Again, consult with your tuner.

What viscosity and oil are you running? It might be worth it to try an oil with a higher viscosity and see what that does to you're knock.

I'm running 0w-20 I thought it would be fine for winter but we're seeing daytime temps in the 60s when usually were 30s or less. I know there's a lot of different theory behind viscosity my thought was if oil temps are similar to n/a then 0w -20. I'm gonna send a log to my tuner but part of this whole thing was the learning experience on the tuning side. My last couple subarus I never paid attention to any of that stuff and I decided I would be more proactive with this one.

I wouldn't really consider this a heat issue related to previous desicsions because of the lack of oil cooler. This weather is unseasonable warm so I put it off but will have one by next weekend. When ambient temps are under 40 oil temps were just fine

Plus I was kind of curious if oil pressure viscosity or anything like that could make this engine more knock prone

That s exactly what is bs allow me to deflect some more. I posted a couple some what generic topics that could led to stimulating technical conversation and it doesn't, most likely my fault for talking shit. If I wanted to induce a technical conversation I probably should have gone about it differently. Anyway I guess I'll continue to read the same old "what kit should I get and why topics"
