Southeast Toyota Recall FR-S

This came in this morning:

NHTSA Campaign ID Number :

Manufacturer : Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC

Make / Model Years : SCION / 2014-2015, TOYOTA / 2014-2015

Subject : Vehicle Accessories May Detach

Manufacturer: Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC

SUMMARY:

Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Toyota 4Runner, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, Land Cruiser, RAV4, Scion FRS, and XB vehicles. The affected vehicles may have accessories installed by SET, such as running boards or other items, that were incorrectly installed. The accessory attaching fasteners were not tightened with the proper torque, possibly causing the accessory to detach from the vehicle.
CONSEQUENCE:

Accessories that detach from a vehicle may result in a vehicle crash and/or personal injury.
REMEDY:

SET will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and tighten the affected
bolts, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin February 9, 2015. Owners may contact SET customer service at 1-954-429-2000. SET's number for this recall is SET-14B.

interesting. thanks for the post. What would this be referring to? if we got the mudguards installed? i don't have the mudguards and the only thing i had SET install was the clear bra and the SCION paint lettering on the bumper.

No idea, although if I would have to guess I would say its the LED strip SET sold instead of the fog lights. I would thing it were the mudguards it would be all areas. Interesting that it doesn't include 2013 models.

i thought the LED strip was a standard Toyota feature on 2015s since they were standard on the 2014 monogram. I dont think SET installed them.

Don't know then. Not a whole lot of options available that use torqued bolts so maybe it is the mudguards.

LED Strip? If it's the following attached picture, it's not an accessory.

I think they might be referring to the LED strip in place of the fog light on some vehicles?

Those are the JDM headlights with LED running lights, not the LED strip.

yes this is what I was referring to in my note. The ones where the fogs are. I think that was SET only option at one point.
