First off, because of the 2 extreme weather that we have here, we need summer and winter tires (if driving on winter), then I research about the Air intake system as well that it's better to change it back into stock on winter because it's more safer for the engine to do that, perhaps I didn't finish the article and not really sure why, but I guess it has got to do with getting too cold specially when it gets -40 below.

Of course. If cold air intakes worked 365 days a year, cars would come stock with them.

anyways thanks for commenting.
if you didn't understand, try reading again...lol
maybe you're thinking I don't know that it comes with stocks?...lol

now i want to get rid of the annoying fake sound, the sound generated from the intake thru the front passenger's seat...I just recently read some thread about it and wondering where I can find the same size plastic or rubber that would fit to plug the hole in the front passenger's side hole for the sound gen here in canada and might as well if any Peggers here who can share their secrets

ever since i thought it was sounding good from outside but it was faked from the inside, because of that sound, he's making me push the throttle further till I hear the rattlin sound, thought that it would be heard outside to be noticed but I guess it doesn't...i like the sound really! what pisses me off is that its not for real!!...and a big bitch knowing that they would hear that ourside but nah!?!...if you know what I'm saying guys...

There's an easy, FREE fix for this mod so you don't have to go running around a bunch of hardware stores trying to find the right size plug.

Inside your glove-box, somewhere near the back, is another 12V power outlet. There is a cap that goes over this outlet. The cap is removable and is not on a "hinge" like the one in your centre console.

Simply remove this cap, and use it to plug the "sound" hole in your passenger foot-well. It should fit perfectly.

And you're done! Easy, free, and gets rid of the annoying fake "buzz" inside the car. I like the sound of my car, but I agree that it was kind of a cheesy thing for them to do (pipe more sound into the interior through a tube). I think it sounds a lot nicer without it.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Most aftermarket cold air intakes for the FR-S aren't pulling in air any differently than the stock intake. Our stock intake throttle body is also heated by a feed from the coolant system to help prevent freezing. Any problems from extremely cold weather will affect the stock intake just as much.

In need for suggestion guys, I'm just wondering if I'm gonn upgrade to something new what would be the best cold air intake should i choose?. 1st choice is Air Raid intake system since it's like the cheapest yet simple install, but I like the looks of the greddy and skunk2 style...
or the TRD intake system just because it looks a little bit better than stock..having to choose from those options is like picking an apple from a pile of fresh ones...
and one more thing, Is it ok to just take the line off and just plug it off, what would be the consequence of deleting this option and would there be positive or negative effects to the performance of the car?

Google will do you wonders. Start there.

To be frank, our cars do not need, nor benefit from cold air intakes. I'll let the sink in as whatever food you have in your mouth lands in your lap.

If you absolutely MUST buy an intake, get the Grimmspeed intake. Its on groupbuy right now and has went through a lot if R&D.

Just buy a drop in K&N filter. Cheap and simple and probably has the same gains as a CAI.

I got the panel filter and inlet hose from perrin and deleted the sound gen, and i could say I'm amazingly satisfied with the result and also installed my 3" cat-back from perrin as well and turned out to be astonishingly awesome.
