Quick NSW wheel / tyre legality question

Hi all,

I'm planning to buy some wheels - 18 x 7.5+43, with tyres at 225/40 r18.

Stock tyres are 215/45

Just wondering if these are legal? From what I can tell they're pretty damn safe. I'm more concerned about the tyres being 10mm off.

I've found this doc from the RMS but not 100% if it's completely up to date given it was made in 2003! http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents/...si-09-rev4.pdf.

Appreciate any and all help!

Not a radical departure from stock . . . . yep I can't see a problem with that despite not knowing what the laws are in NSW. You could even use a 215/40 tyre for best rolling diameter spec but you will feel the extra harshness for sure.

I have been looking for the exact legalities for wheels / tyres as well. Lots of people scaring with misinformation.

Try this document from the rms (2013) on what is a legal modification. Section on tyres is on page 7. Need to make sure your total diameter is not 7% greater or width not more than 25mm than stock.
