So the guys from the Rock Raceway are setting up a drifting championship for amateurs in street cars.

First meeting is tonight to brainstorm rules and how the whole thing will work.

Anyone interested, come through to The Rock Raceway at 18:30 tonight @ the carnival lapa in the pits.

Paul & JP will be providing free training. This is aimed at getting more people into the sport of drifting. Everyone will be a newbie and chances are most havent even slid their cars before (well not on purpose)

Sounds like a great idea. If I lived in Gauteng, I'd be there like a shot!!

I like The Rock Raceway too - it's a nice playground

Here's a pic of me at The Rock which proves that I can get my big ass into a tiny Legend racecar - LOL.
And my orange baby in the background in which I did a 38.1 sec lap of the outer loop of the combined stadium and road track.

These events / 'drift meets' looks like it could build up into something pretty awesome

Wonder if its worth contacting GoPro and ask them to sponsor a few events?
