Dark bronze OEM wheel

I hated the two-tone look of the stock wheels but want to keep them for a winter setup.

These two:

Equal this:

Photo quality isn't great since it is just my phone. Maybe I'll clean everything up and use my DSLR. There is a ton of nice metal flake in the paint that really looks good in the sun and I don't know where Rustoleum gets its definition of 'flat' from, but this paint is at the very least satin, borderline semigloss.

That looks surprisingly good, I say "surprisingly" only because painting something with as complex a shape as a spoked wheel is supposed to be quite tricky. Professional shops can charge over $100 per wheel to do this for you. From the photos your work looks fantastic.

As a comparison, this is my SWP with Pastidip's Vintage Gold

I've painted a lot of stuff in my time. The rustoleum sprayed very well, just used two dusting coats to get into all the nooks and then a final coat for smoothness.

I think I will hit all four with 2k clear to really make it last. The 2k stuff for Eastwood is as good as pro quality without having to get all my good equipment out. I'm also not sure how good of UV resistance the rustoleum has; the 2k is automotive grade so it should keep the color from fading pretty much forever.

How many cans did you use for three coats? Two? Looking at the gold version of this paint, yours turned out great. Did you sand your wheels or just allow the "primer all in one" to do the work?

Use a scotch Brite on all the nooks and crannies, wipe down with wax and grease remover. One can will do three coats on two wheels, but I bought a third can just to be safe.
