Compression and super chargers
With the high compression and the supercharger... Would lowering the compression do the same as it would with a turbo? More power etc etc....?
I figure maybe you don't have to do to full build if you out a less sporadic supercharger so you don't get the boost spikes you get with a turbo.... Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm a noob..., I like the Vortex jackson racing one.. Have a Jackson racing supercharger on my little miata... Can't complain... Thanks, AJ |

With all the current offerings out there right now I wouldn't ever bother with the hassle of opening up this motor for changing out internals. If you are ok with 250-275 whp on pump gas buy a centrifugal SC kit and get a good tune for it. If you want more power and can switch to E85/flex fuel go get a flex fuel kit. No need to lower compression. You have to keep in mind lowering compression means you will be able to run more boost but you will make less power per pound of boost. If you do lower the compression, the net effect theoretically is you can make more power on pump gas but at much higher boost. You will also have to getter higher fuel flow to accommodate that increased boost. |
