What type of paint for Badges/Emblems?

I'm looking to accent paint the side vent piston/boxer emblems on my FRS in red. Such as this:

I was looking for insight from folks who've done such mods on what type of paint you use and also any kind of coating for extra gloss and/or protection.

There's another thread about customizing the boxer emblem, but I'm looking for a discussion specifically on the type of paint that's best for such applications and that'll withstand being out in the elements.

Here's a few I've seen discussed so far:
* Ultra-Fine tipped, permanent Sharpie marker
* Tester's Enamel paint
* Caliper paint

Thanks.

I just did a full set of emblems for a 71 Chevy I am restoring, and I ended up using model paint from a hobby store. I'll snap some pics tomorrow, but they turned out amazing!

I really dont think model paint will hold up to the sun....its not meant to. I would look at getting automotive touchup paint and a #000 brush from a model shop.
