Mfg Recall #WQC39

Welp . . .
I know - if I want to play, I have to pay!!!
WQC39 is mandatory proof of correction required from the dealership
I've been able to totally avoid the dealership so far
My car is modified, not as much as some others, but . . .
So, I've got until August to come up with a plan

Anybody have any ideas?

Must go to dealership
Must have ECU flashed for whatever their reason is
I read it's coolant temp related - Capitol Subaru says it's emissions related
You get a proof of correction certificate that then allows DMV registration to happen

Scions is just a TSB, not a recall. Both are simply ecu flashes I believe.

I see, wonder its the same that DMV will require a tsb certificate to renew registration?

So, here's what I get to do;

- reflash ECU back to stock
- take car to dealership and have them do their WQC39 thing
- reflash ECU back to stage 2

I guess not so bad - first world problems

You forgot a fourth item: Do not physically let your car out of your sight when you take it in - insist that you get to watch the service from start to finish.

I can only imagine the field day the techs will have with your car when you bring it in. They will probably be fighting and arguing who gets to "road test" it after the ECU update - best to shoot that down before it starts.

That's only if it's an emission failure tsb, and based on what I found out it is, there is a correction notice you should receive from the dealer upon completion.

I guess I coincidentally didn't get hassled because I avoid dealership.

But I really needed the GPS fix and tail lights replaced so they updated it when I took it for those things.

If you can't go back to stock fuk it just take the car in. If you have a tune bring your tune device when you pick it up and reflash before you drive off.
