Hey guys, just want to get opinions from people who run theses setups. I'm interested in a Ti tipped exhaust that's not too loud but creates a strong boxer rumble when paired with an UEL header (will buy Speedfactory catted version). So I'm just wondering which header would create no drone and a pleasant deep idle noise while sounding mean in WOT. Price is taken in consideration but I don't mind paying for quality !! Thanks in advance

ARK DT-S... but again it really depends on the rest of your set up i.e. front pipe, over pipe...

Is piping diameter of concern? T1R makes an awesome single and dual exit 70mm with titanium burnt tips and they're known for quality. It was the single exit ft86speedfactory had on for a bit. Also a good amount of weight savings. Sound clips on YouTube

Just get the OFT+OFT and pair it up with the Q300. It'll give you the strong boxer rumble, yet drone free and not obnoxious.
If you want that deep boxer rumble like what you'd expect in a WRX, get an uncatted UEL header (OFH, JDL, or Revworks) and get a dual canister cat back, like an Invidia N1 or Ark Grip / DT-S. Sure, you might have some drone but with upgrades to exhaust parts, what isn't going to be louder- catch my drift? |

I understand all of you. I was thinking on switching the front pipe/over pipe after headers and catback depending on the noise level (if I want more or less). Also I'm not planning FI so the size doesn't really matter but I'll definately check T1R out ! Thanks alot !

I've been seriously considering the Blitz catback as well except for the exact opposite reason. I don't like the UEL rubble sound and what I've noticed with the Blitz catback is that it smooths out the exhaust note quite a bit. Probably because of the extra resonator they have in the mid-pipe (pipe connected directly to muffler).
I agree with previous posters, dual canisters help with the rumble. Apex'i RS Evolution Extreme is Ti tipped single canister and retains some of the rubble sound. Nameless Performance axle back/catback is dual canister with several tip finishing options. |

Just to clarify my previous post. I should have said muffler instead of canister as neither of the two I mentioned are canister style. Apex'i RSX is a single muffler style similar to the Blitz CTi minus the extra resonator. Nameless Performance AB is actually more like a dual muffler design. There's a good chance I'll meet you with the Ottawa group this year I've met with them last year. Hope to meet you at one of the cruises. |

I have a Q300 and its a little bit louder and deeper than stock in cabin. Idle and under 3000 rpm is very close to stock in cabin.
Outside, it has a nice tone. Deeper and no rasp/drone. Not obnoxious too which was what I was looking for. I was looking for something similar to the G37 exhaust. Very quiet at idle but purs when you gas it. Very quiet exhaust in general until you reach more than 3000rpm. Sounds wonderful around 5000rpm on the inside and outside. I was also looking at those exhausts and the ark but decided to go with Q300 for now. Blitz, ark and miltek unfortunately was around the $1300+ range which was a little too much for me. What I noticed from all the youtube videos of those exhausts, Blitz sounds the quietest followed by miltek and then ark. Will probably upgrade in the future if I get bored of the Q300. I do plan on getting an overpipe soon so hopefully that makes the q300 a bit louder around the 1-3k rpm range. |

Here's a quick video of the Q300 I just installed. Stock everything except for the catback. Less than 100km on them as I just installed them 2 days ago. Will be doing a full review once I get her washed and when the weather warms up.
