Deactivating alarm system
I read that I have to activate the alarm system on my new Limited BRZ. Found the thread on how to activate/deactivate the alarm. Got the alarm activated. The horn honked once, and now the alarm light flashes. Now I'm trying to deactivate the system and having no luck. The horn honks once (not twice like its supposed to) and the flashing light continues to flash. Anyone else had this problem??

Well I have figured out how to activate/deactivate the alarm. I guess now that it's initially activated the security symbol will flash when the ignition is off, because the engine immobilizer is activated. Actually, it must have been the immobilizer I activated accidently to get the light to flashing in the first place.
Can someone confirm that their security light flashes, no matter what, as long as the ignition is off? |

Robert,
My security light seems to flash "no matter what" when the ignition is off. |

Yeah Robert, the security light flashes in almost any car that has an Engine Immobilizer to show that it's working. It's designed to help you feel secure knowing it's on, and also to deter others from trying to steal the vehicle by making it obvious there's some security at work.
