Idemitsu

Is 0w 20 from idemitsu a good brand to use? I swap every 5k miles?

Yes.

I believe the recommended interval is 7.5k miles or 7 months.

Idemitsu actually makes the Subaru oil and the factory fill for the twins.

Do you know how much it cost to change the oil by yourself vs. at the dealer. I order everything from a performance shop whos a dealer for idemitsu for 91 dollars shipping included. It has filter, washer etc you needed for 1 oil change. is that too expensive?

Sorry, if this is a noob question. My previous car is more familiar with the 40 dollars oil change haha..

Considering the OE filter is around $6-7, you're paying $13-14 per quart of oil.

I hope you're getting some special type of oil made by them. If not, if you're actually paying for the oil I suggest you start researching into what the cost per quart is of various oils.

I see. Things happened so I decided to not take it to the dealer. I heard idemitsu is what the subaru use for factory oil. So I decided to go with it given that I was recommended. Now I just want to keep it uniform without switching across brand. Does anyone know how much it cost to get your BRZ oil change at dealer in texas?

You can do it for less than ~$35 buying an oil on sale (Mobil1, Pennzoil, etc.) at Wal-Mart, Advance, Autozone etc. and buying oil filters from the dealer. Heck, you can just go to the dealer and get the Subaru/Idemitsu oil cheaper than that even if your dealer sells it at MSRP.

Or was it $91 for 12 quarts?
