Cop Magnet?

i was thinking of ordering the WORLD RALLY BLUE (like a lot of ppl) since it looks the best imo, but my main concern is attracting cops?

any of you guys have a blue car in the past? and have any problems with cops giving you more than normal attention?

I mean i always hear ppl complaining about the color red, yellow, pink? i guess but i don't hear anyone specifically complaining about blue being a cop magnet

and i dont drive like a madman but i do occasionally go over the limit by like 5mph here and there....all 3 of my past cars were black and cops never really gave me trouble so switching car color i guess is huge thing for me lol

Your driving behavior is going to be what cops will pay the most attention to. Even if it does get you a bit more attention than the other cars around you going the same speed, the guy flying past you is going to be far more noticable. Radar guns aren't going to care about what colors the car it's measuring is.

I was debating settling for my second color option myself, until my girlfriend talked some sense into me. Realistically, why let someone else prevent you from choosing your favorite color?

I know it's one of these so-called myths, but I think red will be the biggest cop magnet. Red just sticks out like a sore thumb.

Just be glad you don't live in Australia. They can randomly test there and the 'randomness' seems to be mostly linked to what type of car you drive and how old you look. :P

I'm not saying I condone drinking or anything. I just think random tests without somebody doing something erratic is extreme.

Yeah, red and yellow are the most noticeable. Cops will notice you more easily but so will other cars. So you may get more tickets but you have a lower chance of people turning into you. Blue is a darker color so you'll be fine.

Get a black one, with white doors, and put a light on the roof.

Then open your windows and go "WOOOO WOOOO WOOOO"

Now you got some attention!

^^^ Not a single ticket.

^^^ Most tickets I got ever in a car. Probably due to the height of the Fast and the Furious times, the color (House of Kolors Kandy Apple Red 3-stage, my fav red to date lol), and the TRD Kazuma exhaust.

All of the tickets I ever got were in a black car.

Other colors I have owned, were: white, red, burgundy and gray.

The best magnet for a cop is a car that is speeding or weaving dangerously through traffic. Or if you have an exhaust that is way too loud or tints to dark.

It's rare but sometimes cops will pull you over just to compliment you on your car

Around here in the LA area the bigger the spoiler and the louder the exhaust will get you more attention from the cops. Don't rice it out and you'll be fine.

I've statistically gotten more tickets in red cars, but then again I've owned more red cars than anything. I got a few tickets in black cars but they had loud exhausts. I'm not sure color plays in too much, though I've never gotten a ticket in either of my non-descript white sedans (325i, S4) or my dark green 240Z. I went with Galaxy Blue over Lightning Red partially because of this, but mostly because I've never had a dark blue car before.

I have a WRB STi with an Invidia n1 racing tbe. Never been pulled over. Never had a speeding ticket in my life. Most cops pull up next to me and tell me I have a nice car or tell me about what year evo or sti they have. Don't drive like a douchebag and obey the speed limit and the rest of the laws of the road and it will not be a problem.

I've only been pulled over once in my RX-8. It's all about driving responsibly. I autocross the car for fun too to get it out of my system.

Driving properly on highways also will earn you respect big time among highway patrolmen. That is, using the left lane only to pass reguardless of how quickly you are driving.

That, and just be careful on the 1st and last week of every month, when coppers are out to reach their monthly quotas Doesn't even matter if your car is modded or not.

I'm a bit concerned about this as well. I'm all set for a wrb brz after a few years of driving low key cars. I swear I can almost drive sideways going 20 over the speed limit in my white TL and cops don't even look twice. In my old STI, I got pulled over for driving while asian in NH all the time.

Never got a ticket while I was still driving this on the road:

It's all about HOW you drive. Don't be an idiot.

Really, take up AutoX or RallyX as a hobby. After doing that regularly, hooning around on the road doesn't have the same appeal.
