Anyone had a chameleon?

I'm thinking about purchasing a veiled chameleon at a pet store near me. They want $90 for just the chameleon, but 250 for the cage, leaves, lights, and everything that its already living in. I want a cool pet, but not something that needs attention 24/7, like a dog, cuz I don't have that kind of time right now. The guy was really knowledgeable and told me everything I need to do for it. Anyone have one before or had any experience with them? Is that a good price? Another store here had one for $70, but it sold. I'm gonna see if I can negotiate a bit. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

You could feed squirrels in your backyard. It's fun to make friends with them. Some will even eat from your hand.

My step dad had a chameleon and it was a pain in the ass to take care of properly.

Bearded dragons are pretty simple and cool IMO. I had one and it was really easy. Take it out and handle it once every few days or so for a bit and the rest is normal upkeep. Clean cage, feed, water.

Pretty cheap too. Pets mart normally has them. I wanna say like $30-$40?
