Do the newest cars shipping to north america have all the ecu fixes necessary to fix the DI seal issues?

If not, I would like to get a tune which would fix this issue, but of course I am concerned because if I tune the car and still have the issue then I could have warranty issues. So has anyone with a recent tune had DI seal issues? Has anyone running E85/flex-fuel had DI seal issues?

I will be receiving my car later this month and I just want to be able to drive it hard without worrying about detonation causing DI seal failures. The extra power from a tune would be nice but I can't justify it for that reason alone. So does a car coming later this month to the US market still need an aftermarket tune to prevent detonation?

Ask the service department to pull the calibration id. If it has 01 in as the last 2 digits before the final letter, then i has the latest rom with the updated transient retard table.

For example. ZA1JA00C does not have the updated tables, ZA1JA01C does.

you can take it to the dealer and have them flash it. If you must for peace of mind, buy a $25 j2534 cable from eBay and pirate techstream to check the rom id. You definitely don't need to buy a tune just for that in any case, if the car is brand new and stock.

you can also buy a ELM327 OBDII bluetooth adapter on ebay for $10 and then download the Torque app ($5) to a Droid phone and read it with that.
I just read mine today: My man date is 02/2012 and my cal ID is:ZA1J700C

Torque does dashboard display of any car data and logging as well.

Ecutek roms have had the fixes for a long while now, all the tuners should be working off a base rom that already s 'fixed'

I'm a break it in hard type, so get your car and ENJOY IT
