ECU Tuning for SAFETY
Do the newest cars shipping to north america have all the ecu fixes necessary to fix the DI seal issues?
If not, I would like to get a tune which would fix this issue, but of course I am concerned because if I tune the car and still have the issue then I could have warranty issues. So has anyone with a recent tune had DI seal issues? Has anyone running E85/flex-fuel had DI seal issues? I will be receiving my car later this month and I just want to be able to drive it hard without worrying about detonation causing DI seal failures. The extra power from a tune would be nice but I can't justify it for that reason alone. So does a car coming later this month to the US market still need an aftermarket tune to prevent detonation? |

Ask the service department to pull the calibration id. If it has 01 in as the last 2 digits before the final letter, then i has the latest rom with the updated transient retard table.
For example. ZA1JA00C does not have the updated tables, ZA1JA01C does.
