A GTR is never a sleeper...you know they're always packing heat.

I would be scared to think that the brakes are stock with that much HP.

I agree. Seems like the car would benefit from better brakes and suspension. None the less, still very impressive. |

Not even sure if he needs more brakes or just different pads. I mean, adding pistons just changes balance really and bigger rotors won't help unless they also weigh less. Just needs a more aggressive compound I bet.

IDK when Aviva Instruments made their Turbo kit (twin V-band suited for 28-35 series garrett) Jonathan was making over 900 at the wheels, there's really not alot missing in the braking system, unless you want to buck up and get the Carbon Carbon brakes you aren't really gonna gain much without killing the ability to stop the first time you use the brakes.
As far as suspension goes...suspension and power don't really speak to eachother, for a street car I wouldn't touch the suspension on a GT-R. |

With double the stock hp, at a minimum I would want better pads. Something like Carbonetic R or Ferrodo DS2500. If I had the money to get a GTR to 1000hp I would also convert to a carbon-ceramic brake kit. Nissan even increased the rotor size on the new '12 GTR. ![]() Quote:
I disagree. When you double hp to 1000 bhp in the GTR you would be smart to ensure your suspension meets those needs. Just like Nissan made changes to the more powerful '12 GTR's suspension compared to the '09 suspension. Just like Chevy worked on the suspension of the ZR1 compared to the Z06. It is not just about adding hp. You need a suspension that will match the power output. |
