Exclamation Cell phone sets off seatbelt warning!!!

If I am listening to music through the BTA feature and put my cell phone in the passenger seat, the fasten seatbelt light comes on and the constant chimes along with the airbag light coming on showing that it is enabled. Anyone else have this issue???

It's going to happen. The seat sensor works via electromagnetic field. Electronic devices such as cell phones will cause a positive signal.

Hey. Yeah, I get the same thing in my FRS. I suppose the weight sensor in the seat is particularly sensitive. I guess this is both a good and a bad thing. Can get a little annoying since I like to put my phone down on the passenger seat.

Get a techstream cable like in my signature for $25 or have the dealer disable the passenger airbag warning. Works great. Airbag led still blinks but no audio alert.

Our t-shirts do not set off the passenger seatbelt warning. Just another way we cater to the 86 community.

Cool, I guess that it's nothing to worry about then.
Thanks!

For future reference check out tech specific forum, as pretty much any issue y9u think you have has probably been covered

If you know anyone that has tech stream I believe it's called they can turn the warning buzzer off. They actually had a free copy posted on the main page of the site for users to download.
