I'm not quite sure what sub forum this would go under since it covers a lot of different things. The mods can move it to wherever they deem appropriate.

A good friend of mine came up with a list the other day of the mods he would do if he had a twin. His requirements were, The mods must maintain warranty (no tune, or FI), and allow the car to be a comfortable DD, so NVH must be limited, meanwhile maximizing performance gains.

He is a fan of using a single manufacturer for as many grouped parts as possible to allow for the parts to work together harmoniously.

I've already asked him why 17x8 instead of 17x9 on the wheel. His response was that he doesn't want any rub, and 17x8 tires are a little more inexpensive.

Engine/Drivetrain:
- Koyo aluminum racing radiator
- Crawford air oil separator
- Perrin radiator hoses
- Perrin oil cooler kit
- Perrin resonated cat-back exhaust
- Perrin front pipe w/high flow cat
- Perrin overpipe
- Perrin silicone inlet hose
- Perrin panel air filter
- Perrin rear shifter bushing
- Whiteline gearbox positive shift bushing

He also likes Perrin, Whiteline, and Racecomp engineering product.

So I take it that he only cares about his engine warranty and not drivetrain warranty? How about keeping the stock tire size instead of 235 to keep weight down? That would drop 2 lbs per corner.

TRD intake for better throttle response and retain warranty. Plus it dumps off the sound tube and other things from the stock intake. I dunno if the Crawford air/oil separator would be necessary for a non-FI car. Too bad he doesn't want a tune though, that would go a long way. Just flash back to stock.

I chose 20mm instead of 22mm in the front for the swaybar. Other than that I'd approve.

The whiteline diff bushings do add a fair amount of NVH, at his power level these might not be worth it.

The Koyo rad seems like it would be overkill to me, but I'm not sure.

In keeping with his desire to stay with the same company he might want to take a look at RCE's sway bars as they are designed to work with their spring rates.

And either whiteline com-c top hats or group-n strut mounts. These will help reduce flex and movement under load but don't add any discernible NVH.

Also, I'd second the tune. He can flash back to stock as required and he wont see nearly the gains even with all the other parts, as he would with the tune.

You would think the radiator and oil cooler might be hard to take the var in for warrenty work?

I would still go 17x9 45 offset with 235's, no rubbing.

Get the tune, can always flash back.

KW v3's actually ride really nice on the road, more adjustability.

Looks like a well put list for DD as well as track. Although if he worried about price for tires, I would suggest not doing the three exterior mods as they don't improve performance in any way. Might as well put that money towards wider tires for better grip.
