Leather Shift Boot Squeaks

Hi all,

I drive a 2015 MT 86 and my leather shift boot squeaks when I'm in any of the upper gears (1st, 3rd or 5th). By squeak I mean the leather shift boot rubs against itself and produces the sound you'd expect when you rub leather against leather. It's very noticeable and very annoying - do you guys have any ideas of how I could fix this problem!?

Many thanks

That bit literally just pops up so get your fingers under the edge of the trim bit and pull up and you can further inspect the issue from there. Or you can take it to the dealer for warranty

Throw some leather / vinyl cleaner on it. I think a dealer would immediately tell you "can't replicate the problem" and laugh.

I never got around to finding any leather care products.. only my black leather shoe polish but I don't think that would be good to apply to the shift boot?

Still squeaks

I'm considering getting an alcantara shift boot to solve the problem though
