Congrats, post some pictures and I'm sure some local FR-S owners or BRZ would get you started on the learning process .
Good luck

Check out the regional forums and I'm sure you can find someone to help you out. Plenty of youtube videos too on driving MT. Enjoy!

Hardest part of learning mt on this car is first and second.
My advice while in neutral blip the gas to like 2.5k then shift into first. Ull launch forward but slowly let the car come to a stop without breaking. When u feel it start to sputter u know that's the danger zone of stalling. Idk if that helps but practice practice practice brother. And congrats!
Edit if ur in orange county I can help u out as well

Congrats!

A good way to learn is to feel the slip point of the clutch. You can do this by going to an empty lot somewhere. Shift to first and very slowly release the clutch. Just enough so you can feel the car just barely start to move. At that point you'll know where the clutch pedal starts to grab. Once you get the basic idea of where that point is you can start to apply the gas. Once the car is rolling along nicely you can release the clutch all the way. After that the rest of the gears are easy. After a day or two you should be just fine.

At least this is how I taught my little sister to drive manual. She had it down within like 20-30 minutes once she grasped the idea of how it worked. lol

EDIT: Just noticed your in SoCal. What area? There's usually quite a few meets going on around in different places. You should check them out.

take it to an empty parking lot and start with

first gear
release the clutch slowly until you feel it engage.
when you feel the car start to engage you can give it a little gas (not too much)
start to roll off the clutch slowly while still gassing it and when you move about 10 feet you can completely let off the clutch
brake and throw the car into neutral before stopping and repeat the first step

tips.. if you feel your car about to stall out, you can quickly push in the clutch to save it from stalling and try again.

baby steps.. you dont need to learn all the double clutching, blip downshift and all that other stuff right now
