Toyota 2000GT Emblem

Has anyone tried to put the triangle 2000GT emblem into the triangle space?

No idea where to get one. This is just something that I want to do, and was hoping someone already did it.

Why not just get a GTR badge? Maybe you could fit the Ferrari emblem on the sides, too... and a Mercedes star on the front...be a good match

I bet the guys that make the center console plaques can make you an acrylic one to glue/3M on that triangle light.

Because unlike just putting some random badge on it, the 2000GT has a connection to the 86. I don't know, maybe he just wants to appreciate that heritage...? If you don't understand that, perhaps you should stick with your GTO and not get an FR-S...

You can appreciate the heritage without looking like a fool. What is the point of re-badging this as a 2000GT? It's NOT a 2000GT, so what's the point? Hell, it's not even a Toyota in the states. Why do it then? To appear "cool" or something? To whom? This automotive hipster trend is really starting to get old.

Yeah, and my portable generator has a connection to the Civic...doesn't mean I'm going to put a Type-R badge on it.

It's a car. I don't have to take a course on the history of Toyota or ancient Japan to appreciate it, own it, or drive it.

And yes, it's the OP's car...he can do whatever he wants to it...spend his money any way he wishes...I get that. I just don't understand the motive (again, not saying I HAVE to...it's his car). I'm just giving the opinion of a normal car person who isn't deeply entrenched in the fanboyism that this car (apparently) creates in some people.

I would, but I don't have a portable generator.

Having one on your Honda lawnmower would be priceless.

To some people it does matter. And whether that is "normal behavior" or not is subjective. People can argue that being a "true" car enthusiast is knowing the history and what the car signifies as much as appreciating the way it drives. They want that connection. Hell, look at any of the previous brands you mentioned (especially Ferrari owners) and you'll find them. The point is, you shouldn't knock him for wanting that (if he did decide to put a GTR badge on it or something, then yes we should lock him up for that haha). If we're really going to talk about how a car is badged you may as well immediately remove the fender piston badge since the car is a "FRS" and not an "86" to you. The fact is, as soon as you bought this car, you gave in to some of the fanboyism that surrounds it, not only from making the actual choice of selecting this car over others, but how other people who don't own this car perceive you.

Here's one on ebay

I thought it was going to be more expensive. Only $30+shipping. Reproduction though, not original.

It is a tribute to the heritage and the influence of the 2000GT of the Toybaru. Here is a picture of the two cars together.

Now take your Australian blandmobile and drive off a cliff. At least my idea of a 2000GT emblem is connected to the emblems on my car. How exactly is your Pontiac emblem related to that Australian GTO?

Not sure if the triangle reflector is a tribute to the emblem. I was stating my idea to replace the rear triangle reflector with the 2000GT emblem is from the influence.
