Subaru BRZ fender trim

HI All,

I need some suggestions for BRZ fender trim.
I did like the chrome center strip, so I did want to keep this strip.
I know that this is just sticker, but it did give better contrast, especially I have already spent the money. ><
However, I did not like the black plastic parts. It looks cheap for the fake
carbon fiber outlooking.
Any suggestion or modify for this black piece or even the whole fender trim?
Thanks a lot.

ps. My is lightning red BRZ.

Well first, it's not supposed to look like carbon fiber so I would say that your perception of it is skewed. It is a pseudo engine bay vent.

You could put a flat black vinyl over the black part...or you could get a real cf replacement insert.

Any suggestion for how to getting a real cf replacement insert(only black part)?
Thanks.

To keep the stock fender insert, you would have to do some custom work. That plastic part with in the insert can probably be removed.

Otherwise...this or one of the other designs.

I heard that should be easy.
However, I do not know how to do. ><
Could you share how to remove that black plastic (in order to do the carbon fiber wrap)?
Thanks.

Actually, nothing happen.
I just feel that the chrome center strip did give me the good contrast, but the fake
vent (black plastic) part looks a little bit cheap.
I saw a lot of good ideas to modify the interior and exterior parts for BRZ in this forum.
So, I try to ask for some ideas and suggestion to modify the BRZ stock fender.
Thanks.

What if you painted the plastic piece gloss black or semi-gloss black? That should give it more depth.

HI,

Thanks a lot for your suggestion.

Do you know what the color code for both gloss black or semi-gloss black?

Compared between only paint the black plastic and the whole surrounding fender

(Please refer the red arrow mark as below) which one you think will look better?

Thanks.

ps. My is lightning red BRZ. I am sorry that I did not find the suitable
picture with chrome trim.

My work-in-progress Firestorm FRS

I also think the Subaru ones do look much nicer than the OEM one. Here is what I did with mine.

I wrapped it in carbon fiber vinyl and painted the chrome strip to match with the red paint. When the red paint cured in a few weeks, I will also be wrapping the red strips with clear XPEL protective vinyl just like the rest of the car. That should give it the same shine. Thanks for asking.
