Hey guys so I read a couple of threads but I feel like I still have questions, so I ran into a curb roughly at 15 miles per hour it was an off ramp on the highway so I was actually turning to exit the highway when I hit black ice at the end luckily I was braking long before I got to the end. So when I got out and checked my damage I had really bad damage to the front and read driver side rims it was more like curb rash but a little deeper and the steering wheel was off center as well. So I take it in to a shop that did alignments and got it aligned for 80 bucks. The steering wheel is straight but the car pulls to on the highway and sometimes difficult to keep in its own lane, when I round bends on the highway it gives off a jerky feel when I lean into the curve it doesn't flow with the bend like it used to now it just kinda jerks around the turn. Anyone have an suggestions or know any reliable mechanics in Virginia around Virginia beach to Norfolk or Newport News? All help would be greatly appreciated

Could be suspension damage as well, but I would get a second shop to confirm that the alignment was done properly.

Well, now, that's a bummer .........
![]() The LAST time mrs humfrz allowed me drive HER car ....... I slid around a corner on snow covered roads in our subdivision and slammed the right side into a curb. I figured an alignment would fix it ...... I was wrong ...... ![]() By the time it got fixed proper, it took a new lower control arm, a new front strut, a new front wheel, a new front wheel bearing/hub and a new rear wheel bearing. THEN an alignment. My point is that there may be more damage to your car, if it's not driving right. humfrz |

Hah! You're kidding, right? Even if you weren't, just pretend you were joking.

But seriously, as @Ultramaroon mentioned, I hope you're joking, since it isn't too uncommon to need to replace that stuff if you have a good enough hit. |

I'd try taking it to the dealership and have them do a full inspection. Sounds like something is bent or damaged and there no way to know until it's up on a lift and someone who knows what the parts are suppose to look/operate like starts probing around.
That or take off the wheels and upload pictures of all your suspension parts for us strangers on the internet to view and comment on whether it looks bent or not. Lol.

So, with a couple of inches of snow in the ground, I was "showing" her, by hooning around. She said, I don't get it ..... the car just goes straight. So, on the next turn, in a wide intersection, I did one of ol @Cole s 11/10s Well, the machine went out of control and skidded across the intersection and slammed broadside into this really hard curb. After, mrs humfrz shook it off, from her head getting bashed into the window, she said "I'm impressed with your command of all those electronic safety features ...... , NOW drive MY car SLOWLY back home. That's the last time she let me drive it ...... ![]() humfrz |

Could be a bent control arm or tie rod. Get it checked out asap.

Good ole VAB and her three snow plows for all of Hampton Roads area. God I dread potentially heading back there just because of that in the winter.
