header tech questions and opinions

I saw this on ft86speedfactory

http://ft86speedfactory.com/hks-equa...lyzer-789.html

what do you guys think? Only reason I am looking at the catalyzer one is because my test pipe is catless. I could always go with a catted test pipe by nameless but that's an extra 600.

Also, I have seen things on the forums about the length of some tubes being longer and what not and it would be better for some pipes to be longer etc. Generally nameless having longer pipes? I'm not sure if I am totally messing things up here, but can someone explain this for me? I do understand the difference between el and uel, but something about pipes being longer.

thanks guys!

If im not mistaken i think some headers replace the overpipe and some dont so that would probably be the difference in lenght!!

You can be long tube vs short tube, and Equal length vs Un Equal Length. Each has their benefits and drawbacks in the grand scheme of things.

The P&L, Fa20club, and Nameless are all long tube headers. It allows for lower rpm exhaust flow, and an increase in low end torque which will help with the elimination of the torque dip in our cars, the drawback is usually always the sound.

EL vs UEL allows for the gas to clear from different cylinders at different times.

What do you mean by sound?

they are generally louder, sometimes a little raspy. You need to do more exhaust work to make them sound better. especially when you move from a UEL to an EL header.

I can second this. PPE EL Header with Berk catted front pipe and stock catback rasps.

I'll be doing a Resonated Downpipe with a beefy resonated midpipe for a full 3" system with the Nameless header. Dual resonators with their 3" offset Axleback should make it reasonable.
