Help with a design

I'm currently in the market for a shift knob and I've decided that a Flossy heavyweight grip is probably the one i'm going to go with... I'm attempting to make a custom design for my knob but I am utter garbage when it comes to design programs and photoshop stuff. Was wondering if anyone could help me out?

The design I have is quite simple (atleast I think it is). I need the japanese flag (just a red circle) with the writing ハチロク in white overlapping the bottom 20% of the circle, and this is all against a black background.

Any and ALL help is much appreciated...

About how big will the final design be? I'm imagining it will be less than 1in x 1in... is that a reasonable guess?

Two versions to pick from. One with smaller type, and one with larger 'overlapping' text. The top two have the black background, the bottom two have a transparent background.

I hope these work for you.

EDIT: If you want something changed let me know. I have a little bit of time here and there that I can lend to you. You said simple in your original post, so I kept it simple.

Wow, that's almost spot on. Could make the font size of the second design a little bigger? Other than that it's perfect. Really appreciate it!

Hmmm. Better, but not quite there yet.. i think the size of the font is fine but if it the lettering could be spread out just a wee-bit and positioned a little higher it might look nicer. Not sure though. Open to suggestions as well if you're not busy XD. Once again, thanks a ton dude.
