Hats and Mats

Being a newcomer I'm still trying to find things many others already have or know about. But here are two things I wanted to mention for others in my situation.

FR-S Hats - I saw these on early posts and guess they were available during the reveals. Have not seen many for sale since, either here or on eBay. But they CAN be ordered through a Toyota dealer. Scion part # is 00113-71621-63760, Warren # is FRCAP430. List price is $25 but most dealers will sell at net of $13.75. Mine even gave me one for free. Nice hat too...

Next are replacement floor mats - Noticed my factory FR-S mats showing quite a bit of wear in just 500 miles. Went to my dealer to order an extra set and found they are only available individually - fronts are $108 each, rears are $40 each, list. Wow, no way I was doing that! I found and ordered these from Spoonz Auto so I could store my originals away.

These mats were $99 shipped (bought on eBay), were well packed and are very nice with a thick heel pad. Fit is absolutely like stock and they appear to be well made. Heavier and thicker than the originals, one of these weighs more than all four stock mats! The color is a little blacker than the 'charcoal' of our interiors but I think they still look good. And the red edging sets them off nicely. Might be a good alternative for BRZ owners who don't like their silver edging as well.

I'm very pleased with these mats and will sent this post to Spoonz Auto, perhaps they would be interested in becoming a supporting vendor here.

The Toyota / Scion dealer I got my FR-S at had the hats in various colors in the Dealer Do-Dad kiosk.
Also jackets, windbreakers, touques, scarves and do-rags. All branded. Kinda ... meh.

May sneak in and buy a hat though 8)

The Weathertech FloorLiner DigitalFit mats are the best I've ever seen.

There is a thread on here somewhere discussing them.

There was that diy thread where someone just cut up a piece of rubber welcome mat and velcro'd it to his stock floor mat, and I thought that was a good idea.

I showed the parts guy at my dealer that page and (after about a week) got a call saying it and the FR-S keychain I wanted was in. Paid about $15 and some change after tax for both.

They lock exactly like the factory mats. And the edges are spiral bound like the factory mats also, just in red instead of charcoal. The more I drive with 'em in the car the more I like 'em.

I'll be switching to Weathertech for next winter, these are for summer when a softer touch is nice!

Wonder if there are any fitted, or at least flexfitted hats.

Imo flexfit sucks, adjustable is the way to go.

To each their own. I only prefer the flexfit because I don't like the gap in the back. I sometimes wear my hat backwards depending on what I'm doing.
