Do Adjustable rear LCA/Camber bushings cause stress?
Suspension gurus...
Do adjustable lower control arms introduce lateral stress on the strut/spring assembly when used to correct camber in the rear? Consider my MS Paint drawing. ![]() From what I can tell from looking at various coilover kits, the rear pieces bolt right to the body and don't look like they allow for any lateral movement. Maybe the LCA doesn't need to move much in order to adjust camber? I don't know, just thinking something like this could cause premature wear or failure on the various components.

Do you mean where the coilover attaches at the top? You're thinking if you lengthen the lower control arm it will put stress on the top mount because you will be changing the angle where coilover meets the frame (you would have to bend the coilover outwards)?
The answer is no,at least not in the small amount the length of the LCA would be adjusted (a couple mm). There are bushings under the top hat that allows for flex (in addition to reducing NVH). |

Good to know. Thanks! I had an impression the LCA didn't need to move much to change camber.
