Tokyo Roki?

I searched, I saw lots of mention of the JDM oil filters, but no one actually posted a link.

So, my question, to all of those using the JDM filters in your BRZ, are these the ones? Is that where you're ordering them from? These are made by Tokyo Roki, yes?

Thanks!

Subaru part# 5208AA130 that you linked are the Japanese made Tokyo Roki filters that the FR-S/BRZ ships with.

Ok, cool. It's saying they are for 2011 Foresters only and the site image is too tiny to see it. I guess is they just haven't updated the description yet. Just making sure.

Thanks!

The 5280AA160 filters work as well. Some dealerships just stock the 160s to simplify inventory.

Are there any differences? And by dealerships, do you mean Japanese? They aren't selling the blacks in the US, right?

edit:

Just saw that in another thread. Damn, all that searching and I can just pop over to the dealer and get the blacks?! Something made me think the dealers only had the blues to begin with...?

What filters are those? I don't find anything on Google w/ that part#.

Are you maybe thinking of the taller/skinnier Subaru blue Honeywell/Fram Canadian made filters?

Yeah, the blue Frams is what I was thinking were the only ones we could get in the US. I figured the blacks had to be imported.

Thanks for the link!

edit: And I just called Subaru where they sell the blacks for $7.85. Why the hell didin't I do that 4 hours ago?!

The 160s are black Tokio Roki filters that are taller and skinnier. Both are available in the US at Subaru dealerships. A lot of the FR-S guys have found that the Toyota dealerships buy the Subaru filters and then mark them up. Best to go straight to the Subaru Dealership. If that's not an option, SubaruGenuineParts.com sells packages of the filters for about the same price as above per filter.

It's the older filters for the GD impreza that went to the blue. (though I highly suspect the 160s will work perfectly fine on them)
