Advanced Keys Inc + Viper 5904

So I had the Viper 5904 Security/Remote Start system installed by the guys @PrimeMotoring in NJ (more on them later), and decided to pair it with an ignition knob from Advanced Keys Inc after seeing all of the flip key DIYs where they take out the chip. So I can remote start my car while keeping the chipless key in the ignition; that way, I dont have to carry around a key or take it out of my pocket when I get into the car.

Its really just a convenience for me, and yes, Ive thought of all of the negatives to this set up and have a couple of things in place to address them.

As for the guys at Prime Motoring - I HIGHLY recommend them for auto customizing. Forget being in the tri-state area - I drove up from VA and will drive up again when I slap on my wheels and coils, and probs another exhaust; they installed the AP exhaust while I was up there and man that thing is LOUD. They care about their work and take the time to do things right. Real good guys.

i was looking at the advanaced keys options and was a little confused by that particular one. Does it require the keyfob to be in the car for the knob to turn?

The knob will probably still turn, but the unit will prevent the car from starting without the keyfob present.

My system is set up with the Viper - the only thing I got from Advanced Keys is the knob. I took the valet key and stripped it of the rubber and the chip. THe bypass module used does not require the chip (which is risky, and I do have counter measure in place in case someone wants to smash my windows while its been remote started), so I do not need the fob/chip in the car at all.

ahh ok so essentially once you use the remote start, you just walk in and turn the knob and thats that. If the car's completely off though it won't allow it to start with just the knob i assume?
