The Jason Ellis Show!
Figured I'd make a thread about this show to see A) who listens and B) discuss the show.
Here's a bit about how I got into it and what it's all about. I travel quite a bit by car for work all over NY, CT, MA and the rest of New England (minus VT...sorry guys). Nearly every day I'm spending 3-6 hours or more in the car and satellite radio is something I was hooked on for life the day I got it around 2004-2005 with my Sirius Sportster but these days it's worth so much to me. [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Ellis"]Jason Ellis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] The Jason Ellis Show airs on SiriusXM channel 41 (Faction) every weekday from 3-7 Eastern (12-4 Pacific) and has been going on for 8 or more years now. It's evolved along with Jason and his co-hosts in very interesting ways over the years. Tony Hawk has been hosting a weekly show on Faction called Demolition Radio for many years and early on Jason Ellis would join him frequently along with a selection of other skateboarding folks. The folks at Sirius quickly saw that this guy had a personality that people loved and he was asked if he wanted to DJ at nights (Pacific). He started there and moved to his current time-slot later on. Early on he was required to play a lot of music but was given leeway to talk quite a bit between sets. Over time he attracted quite a following and was growing in popularity. Eventually he got to where he is today where it is truly a talk-show punctuated by 2-song breaks (no commercials on SXM Music stations) about every hour during the show. I knew his name from playing the Tony Hawk's Pro Skateboarder games years ago on PlayStation so I gave him a listen when I came across him way back then and have listened ever since. With the current SirisuXM app making the show available on demand for a week after it airs I currently NEVER miss a show. I'm not into punk rock and much of the rest of the music Faction typically plays. However, Jason isn't into it either and only plays hard rock, metal, classic rock, and some random gems here and there that really wouldn't typically be found on this station during his breaks. At first glance, depending on when that glance occurs, the show can seem immature or rather offensive. The language is definitely NSFW. However, the show spands a massive spectrum. Jason Ellis is 41, divorced, and a father of two. The show happens in LA moves from action sports to MMA to eating healthy to coping with drug addicton to drugs themselves to alcoholism to raising children to and on and on. I'd urge anyone to give the show a listen even if they find it offensive at first. They get countless calls from folks, often wives/ex-wives/girlfriends/ex-girlfriends of listeners saying that they hated the show at first but now it is the highlight of many of their days.
