Please help, Joying headunit powers on, no sound. I've already searched forum!

Hi all

I bought my Joying head unit a little more than a month ago. I've read as many posts as I can before buying, and yes, I've tried swapping pin 8 and 9.

I am currently on 85 e-mails to and from Joying, and that excludes the online chats. I just can't get sound to the stock door speakers. They say they test it 5 times before shipping so I can't imagine that it is a faulty head unit.

I'm in the unfortunate situation where I bought a pre-owned car and the guy that had it before me modded the sound a little, so it's not completely standard, but all the standard cables are there (I think).

I bought this head unit:
https://www.carjoying.com/android-5-...rt-revers.html

I had THREE harnesses (still not sure which to use, I think it's either the BRZ or universal...):
The one that comes standard

Universal harness
https://www.carjoying.com/joying-har...head-unit.html

BRZ harness
https://www.carjoying.com/joying-har...ess-cable.html

Also, when I plug the BRZ harness into the one mounted inside the head unit compartment (back right), all my warning lights come on, not sure if that is normal...

I have 2 sets of audio jacks, I think one is from the sub, not sure where the other is from (it's a blue cable, was kind of hidden away and wasn't i use when removed the old head unit). I've tried every combination of both sets in the white and red jacks and I still get no sound.

If anyone can provide any guidance, I will be forever in your debt! Thank you!

Gareth

@brianhj: I don't have the OEM unit, but I could get sound out of the previous head unit.

Since posting, I got the following response from Joying, I'm sure someone would be able to advise me here...

"Just checked with our engineer

And he said your car has factory amplifier

Now you need find your factory amp control wire and then connect with our factory control wire in below blue circle

If it still do not has any sound, i am afraid you need a canbus to decode your factory amplifier

Maybe you can purchase by yourself for the suitable harness which can support your factory amplifier"

Can someone tell me any of the following:
1. Do you know where I would find this cable?
2. Would it also be orange with a black stripe?
3. Is it just the one wire that would be a problem?

Thanks everyone!

Try to find the manual for the radio that was in the car, and look if anything was wired to the 'antenna' or 'amp' wire of the headunit. That's probably where the amp turn on wire will be connected. Also check if anything is connected to the accessory wire except for the accessory power itself. Some people tap the amp wire into the accessory circuit. I think the amp wire is usually blue, but I'm not sure how standardized that is. Good luck!

In your pics the main radio connector isn't connected. Why not? This connector has your speaker signals, power, ground, acc, amp turn-on, etc.
