335 if I wasn't keeping it longer than 3 years. I wouldn't go near a BMW without a warranty.

If money was really not a factor, I'd go for the M3/M4.

But if it's between the 335i and the FRS, I'd pick the FRS.

Had the BMWs already. I think the FR-S is more user friendly. FR-S is my choice now. Got tired of the maintenance costs on BMWs. My ultimate driving experience with the bimmers became back and forth to the dealer.

Well sorry, I'll expand then. Beyond the costs, was the time without the car while they were trying to figure out how to fix it. They would throw boards at it at $500 a pop and by the time I got Home from the dealer the problem would reoccur, then there was the time that they closed the hood on my 7 series with a wrench on the air cleaner and made a dent out wards on the hood and then had the nerve to ask if it wasn't like that when I dropped it off, really? And people here have horror stories about Scion dealers and their work, well I'm here to tell you that BMW is no better. Don't get me wrong, when BMWs are running right I love them, I was even looking at the 1 series before I got my FR-S, but with the experience I had with the dealer I just couldn't do it

It all depends on the dealership and who you know. Does not matter with any brand...well except for the high roller ones.

The 335 is a beast, and you can net some big power with intake, exhaust, and a flash. But costs are obviously exponential when compared with a Toyota or Subaru. A car that is maintained properly would be less headaches down the road, but a car that has too many electronics does limit my tinkering abilities. I'll stick to my old school BMWs.

For a long time I had liked BMW's, used to want an E46 M3 pretty badly, but could never afford one. Just last year I was in the market for a car and for the first time in my life i actually had the kind of income where I could afford a slightly used 2010 BMW M3 Coupe. Of course i felt compelled to test drive the competition, so I went to Cadillac first and drove the CTS-V, the sales person was ok, seemed reluctant to take the car for a spin (I was wearing board shorts and Rainbow sandals) but let me play a little. The I went to Audi which I expected to be a bit hoity toity, but they were friendly and even let me drive the S5. After that I made a quick stop to look at a nearly new 2009 C63 at a Mercedes dealership...by far the coolest sales person of them all, we talked cars, talked about Aston Martin's and the SLS, and then we took a 15 minute blast in the C63...i think I hit 85 mph going almost sideways onto the 15, and he was like go faster. After we got back he asked me if i wanted to take the S63 for a spin...at $120k I declined because i was really only interested in cars i could afford. So I left with a grin, onwards to BMW to test drive the car that spawned my desire to own a performance luxury coupe.

First things first I was hovering around for 15 minutes looking at random cars before anyone even approached me. When I finally was approached the guy seemed to not want to be there. When i asked about the M3 and if they had one in stock (i knew they did I checked their inventory online before i went) he reluctantly took me to the side lot where it was parked unceremoniously on the curb. So I start rattling off the usual questions about the car, how much warranty remained on it, service intervals, etc. the guy knew most of the answers so i let him off the hook...then I asked can I drive it. Mind you this was a used 2010 BMW M3 Coupe in Black with 5k miles on it. Dude told me they didn't want to add any miles onto the car because it might turn away potential buyers...I explained that I was serious about buying the damn car and still nothing...they did concede in the end to "let" me take a 335i out for a spin "because the M3 is basically just a more powerful 335i". So I did what any person who was carrying the $70k in cash in my car would do...grabbed it, showed the prick that i had the cash, and told him that it would have been the easiest sell he ever had, if he would have pulled the **** out of his ass and just let me drive the damn car.

Since then I have vowed to never buy a BMW, people can say that I am cutting off my nose to spite my face but there's so many cars that are as good or better, so I don't miss them at all...it only takes one instance of profiling to piss me off.

Long story short, buy the FRS, if you want Euro power, get a C63...way more fun and sounds like the hounds of hell are barking through that exhaust...

Depend whether you want to drive a fast luxury coupe, or an unrefined sports car.
