Scion just bought me 4 new Michelin's!
The car came new with the junk stock BFG's I call complained told them the car was spec for the Michelins and all the write up's support this
They paid for new tires just over $800 last week. I had about 7500 miles on it |

Mind sharing what you had to show them exactly? I have been fighting my dealer on this since the day I picked mine up.

I'm confused - where'd these non-Primacy tires come from? Are dealers swapping the stock tires out for cheaper ones, or is Toyota/Subaru doing this at the factory to meet demand or something?

Michigan here and Michelins OEM. Doesn't get much colder. I would have probably stuck with the BFG's although new tires after 7500 miles isn't bad either.
I havent seen any literature on this car coming with BFG's. Maybe the dealer swapped them because of a balance problem or something on another car/this car? Mike |

The Michelin Primacy HP tires this car came with are a summer compound tire. They're not safe to drive in temperatures consistently below 45F, that's why they're switching to the Bridgestone all-seasons for the colder months.

This being the case, I wonder what the official Toyota/Subaru stance is on this. |

Scion wouldn't do anything for me on the Primacy tires, they are entry level as far as summer but according to Michelin they are exceptional in the wet. I wrote a letter to Michelin and they gave me a 75% good will adjustment. So with 9/32 of tread left I recieved $151.00 in tire credit toward a new set of Michelins. I know I will be installing the Wilwood brakes that fit the OEM wheels so these will be my inclimate weather tire. I went up the mountain and tried them in the snow. With the VSC on and the Snow button on they are safe and predictable. Granted they are in NO WAY comparable to a Hydrophelic Snow tire they will suffice for where I live.
I had a local dealer install the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus Pilot Sport A/S Plus ![]()

Ya I got my car back in may. I had the dealer order me a set of winter tires. A few weeks later when I came to pick up the tires my Sales guy said scion sent everyone a letter letting them know the FRS was getting a tire change to all seasons.. ahh well.
