Tomei 60R to something a little more toned down/mature suggestions? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Been running the Tomei 60R for a short time and have so far liked the sound.
But today I installed a catless header, and I think the 60R may need to go, lol.

Under load on low rpm's, the combo sounds mean. Once those revs get up however, its a bit much.

Looking for a nice growl, and tone to go with an UEL.

I dig the look of the single exit, but I guess the sound from those is always going to be pretty crazy so I may have to go dual exit.

Anything that will sound good N/A, and possibly F/I with a supercharger later on?

Yea I once had the same -- Tomei 60r with catless UEL. It was awful sounding lol, anything mid to high revs sounded like the end of days haha. The 60r by itself was amazing though. As for a replacement cat-back, i recommend the Perrin 2.5 Resonated - awesome boxer rumble if paired with UEL & stock FP.

Thanks for the suggestions, ordered up a Perrin and went back to the stock catback until it comes in.

If you had the 60r and want something more quiet but single exit, why not the 60s or 60r?
