BRZ NEWS Email from Subaru Australia

Just Received this:

"Good Afternoon,Thank you for your ongoing patience in waiting for your new Subaru BRZ.
We thought you might be interested in some news that we released to the media during the press morning of the Australian International Motor Show which kicked off today in Sydney.
On the stand we have two special Subaru BRZ models. The first is a motorsport-adapted Subaru BRZ which has been prepared by Possum Bourne Motorsport – some of you may remember that they prepared our championship-winning Australian rally cars and have excellent credentials in this arena.
The second, is a Subaru BRZ sports concept fitted with STI parts which we hope to have available for purchase in the new year. Pricing and compliance with Australian Design Rules are yet to be finalised and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date with progress in the coming months.
For all the information and some photos of these great vehicles, please visit subaru.com.au/news
Also, I have a limited number of BRZ Owner’s Manuals on USB available so if you are interested please let me know via return email.
Again, thank you for your patience. If you have any queries or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Regards,
Natalie
BRZ Coordinator"

The roof vent is a rally thing. With no aircon you need cool air in the cabin.
Up nice and high so you don't get dust in.
Also pressurises the cabin to stop dust coming in through seals.

I'll be emailing PBMS to see how much their parts are

Interesting... I guess most people will be keen on the cage, carbon trims and brake kits.

Anyone have any more info on this sti model?

Also received the email. Emailed back to ask about adding STI parts (once released) to the existing order. Will post up once I get a reply.

Just import STI parts like me and arrives in 2-3 weeks no need to wait for new years and any money its cheaper importing it. Buying from dealerships are more expensive

And this is what I was waiting for
I heard from a little birdy about 8 months ago that the twins will get factory tunes next year :p glad to see the birdy was telling the truth. Now lets see if Toyota responds or keeps it under wrap for a little whole longer

I won't have the car until August next year so if the price is right, I'll add them through Subaru.

I just noticed the carbon trim for the cabin is on the subaru website as an optional accessory - I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't like the look of the silver one!

Might try to have a look at it in person, could spruce up a 86 GT

Oh so that's been added. Just found it listed as 'Instrument Panel' on the accessories list. Here a pic from the website:

Quote:

$199.21 RRP | $221.21 Fitted RRP
Replacement instrument panel to replace the standard silver with a more exclusive black carbon finish.
To be honest I'm not keen on it at all, part of the appeal of the BRZ to me was no fake carbon fibre in the interior.

I do like something else I just noticed though - Rear Step Panel. Is this new?

Quote:
$192.50 RRP | $214.50 Fitted RRP
Both stylish and practical, finished in a black carbon and chrome finish.
I think it could help to prevent scratches. Assuming it could be fitted after taking delivery of the car? Wouldn't add it to my order unless I saw one in real life and liked it. Thoughts?

I sat in the BRZ at the motorshow and instantly felt there was something better about the interior compared to the last time I sat in one, but thought I was imagining it as I couldn't put my finger on what the difference was.

You've made me realise it was the black carbon fibre dash paneling... Much MUCH better than the silver. I'd probably prefer plain black like the Toyota even more but to be honest I didn't really notice it as "zomg fake carbon fibre" like you'd imaging you would, maybe it's more subtle than in the pic.

Definitely something I'd order.

Maybe it's different to the Toyota Fake Carbon Fibre panelling in the GTS? I know I didn't like that in real life. I think I'd have to see it in person.
