86 GTS Dash Pieces - a word of warning

Just thought I would let everyone know that I decided to CF vinyl the two dashboard pieces of plastic to match the rest of the CF vinyl that I had put in my car.

I found that the 'patterning' on the GTS trim pieces is actually a 'sticker' as well. I call it a sticker but it's not sticky on the back, I don't know exactly what you would call it, maybe even a 'skin'.

Upon heating my CF vinyl to shape it it also lifted some of the OEM sticker/skin. I was only using a hair dryer on a low setting so I wasn't really heating the sh1t out of it.

I was fortunate to catch this whilst it was only lifting on the back side of the large piece (not the radio surround) so it isn't visible and managed to stick it back down using a bit of superglue. Suffice to say that I didn't continue with the vinyl wrapping.

Has anyone else come across this or know of a work around?

Just get some GT pieces, or swap with someone who has a GT, and wrap those.
