Mud Guards, got them, put them on, have issue.

These were from ToyotaPartsOutlet, took from the 16th of July till today to show up. The sun guard I got from them took forever as well. Really not pleased with their shipping...

They fit worth shit, or I don't know what I'm doing, gonna go with the latter until the former is proven:

Front has a gap. It also needs a hole drilled? Not gonna happen:

The rear is ok, but looks like you're supposed to drill a hole here as well:

I did move the clip from the left most spot where the mud flap goes to the hole next to it since there was no clip in there. Makes the bumper more sturdy perhaps?

Overall not bad, but that gap is killing me, looks like crap if you notice it and just imagine the dirt that will get in there! Oh yeah, no instructions came with it, and I had parts left over.

Yes, you're supposed to drill.

There is another thread on these, you do have to drill I think for two of the flaps but only into plastic as I understood it.

Mine came with the flaps installed here in Canada, and, they don't fit 100% tight either so I'm not sure that's solvable.

We really need a sticky for this. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ght=mud+guards

You will have to drill and they should have come with the hardware to make it work.

Installed mine today, too. No fuss at all, taking less than 30 minutes, wheels-off-on, drilling, etc.

BUT I had the instructions printed by my Scion parts department, which they are willing to do for any OE install.

Go to your dealer and do over, then let us know, please.

p.s. The seller screwed me on delivery and price, but you can expect them to do that - it's out of their control, or something...

I don't have a dealer, at least within a 5+ hour drive of me. I do everything myself. I'll pull the wheels at some point, I held the guards down where they would be drilled and the gap remains, so it's just a poor fit I guess. Still better protected than not I suppose.

All four had a point to drill and they came with all the hardware, and it's all just into plastic, but still....

I searched, apparently poorly, thank you, and I did do everything right short of those drilled holes. Good to know I'm not a complete idiot.

Can you snap some pics of a rear to front view? I want to gauge how much off the quarter panel they "protect".

Thanks! Yep, just like that. If you could pop one where your more to the right and aiming left.
I want to see what it would look like on wider wheels 7,9ish" and if they would be sticking past.

Perfect! Thank you so much. It looks like they will cover the oe rim/tire combo and not much more.

I ordered my mud guard and heatshield from ToyotaPartsOutlet back on 7/15 and still didn't receive the mud guard yet. Got the heatshield just a couple of days ago.

Maybe you can use some black silicone adhesive in there to close the gap....

Otherwise, they look good. Nice work. I was debating getting some myself but this certainly puts it in the plus column.
