When will we see the Subaru BRZ concept?

Now that the Scion FR-S has been announced and unveiled, when do you think we will see the Subie variant?

True lol BUT look it this way, Subaru always release the final ver within yr of showing the concept. If they show the Concept ver in TIAS, within a yr, Subaru will show the final ver.

I don't think we WILL see it. I'm just saying don't get your hopes up that we would even get the Subaru version in the US.

The outcry from US Subaru enthusiasts about the RWD vs AWD issue is deafening.

I don't know. Do you really see FHI spending all this time and money designing the car and then not bringing it to one of the largest automarkets in the world (US)? I know the economy is sucky and all, but still.

I don't know my Subaru history as well as some others, but isn't it only within the past 10-12 years that their whole lineup has gone AWD? I seem to remember them having FWD cars in the past.

Yes but I'm not the one who has a problem with a RWD Subaru .

Not really, but I think the outcry from the average Subaru buyer will . QQ, not hopeful.

I'm just being pessimistic, don't mind me >.>
It's not that it was announced officially that it was going to be that way or anything right?

Yeah, the elitist might be a little butt hurt at the begining but in the end of the day, if it looks good and performs well, they'll get over it! :happy0180:

C'mon Oct...

In US, not anymore. In other country, yes they still have FWD

That is what I wrote. That 10-12 years ago Subaru had FWD cars here but now they are all AWD. So it isn't like the company started off with AWD and never did something else. Sure that is their niche, but it isn't going to make them convert all their cars to RWD if they come out with the 216a.

Yeah, I highly doubt it too. I think 216a is one of the kind, I think. Rest still will be AWD

The Subaru concept skeleton was clearly a RWD. I guess they could make it an AWD if they really wanted to, but why when it increases cost + weight+ decrease handling. Sure you can better traction off the line but you lose any advantage at speed due to heavier weight. Plus any advantage of AWD in the snow is kinda lost since the car is so low to the ground anyways. Not sure the benefit of AWD in this kind of car over RWD.
