Overfilled Oil
After getting the bracket fixed at the dealership I had my first oil change.
Car is now sluggish and looks like the oil is about an inch over the fill line on the dipstick WTH!! Also to add to the issues I hear pops now sort of sounds like a muffled backfire. |

Are both sides of the dip stick over the line or just one side?

I would take it back to the dealership if they over filled it. Depending on how much they put in, there's a chance that the increased pressure will cause oil to push past seals and gaskets, damaging them in the process.

1) you should contact the service manager at the dealer and let them know about this.
OR 2) you should drain contents of oil pan to either be at proper level, or completely drain and then refill with proper amount (less oil filter amount). -alex |

I juuust went through this exact same situation. Dealership tried to tell me they always overfill, but I asked them to remove the extra oil anyways. Mine was over an inch above the line as well.
This dealership had something they used to suck the oil out from the dipstick hole I assume, because they didn't drain the pan and it took all of 5 minutes. Make sure you check the oil on dead-level ground, apparently the level readings can change quite a bit if the car's not perfectly level. |

They probably used a Mityvac. I used that when I had my overfill issue.
The backfiring and very sluggish car is a very BAD sign. Definitely take it back to the dealership, call them they might want to have it towed!!! Do not try to remedy it yourself. |

Yeah, It's going back first thing tomorrow.
Sucks because I'm currently back in school and it's finals week. I love this car, but this particular one has had more issues than anyone should rightfully have. I'm just wondering if its possible to just trade it in for the same car since it's had so many issues. |

3 times the same issue as well as quite a few other things 30 days without the car blah blah.. anyway, the dealership drained the excess oil and it seems like everything is good.. the car back firing was scaring the shit out of me though.
