Help Brz electrical issue
I have a 2013 Subaru brz limited it's been sitting for 3 years due to a blown motor I purchased a used motor from Jdm motors and swapped everything to that new motor and installed it into the car I attached every connector swapped most of the fuses that show the amps I haven't checked the relays the car cranks but does not start.
The obd2 port doesn't work and the windows wont go down also the car doesn't lock/unlock itself seems as if the door isn't powered. The ac display doesn't work the seat warmer button, mirror adjuster and the wipers Things that do work is the dash , the dome light, doors floor lights, high beam too Ive swapped fuses in the engine bay and the interior Update: the electrical issue was the battery terminal fuse I swapped it I'm able to use my obd now and windows work everything else works still wont start it cranks but it sounds like a weak crank with flickering going on I scanned the car 4 permanent codes came up P0011 p2109 p0345 p0335 i already replaced the crankshaft sensor and cleared the the codes and its still there there's a hose on this new engine on top of the cam plate there wasn't one on my original engine i guess what ill do is unbolt it and put a plug unless you guys have any suggestions as for the crankshaft position sensor plate i completely forgot to install it on to the new engine thanks opie I'm going to drop the Transmisson instead of pulling the engine again smh ill keep you guys updated Last edited by bryansuriel3; 07-20-2024 at 09:07 PM. |

I'm assuming that you got an engine for a 2013 to 2016 and not a 2017 to 2020.
And, you've triple checked all electrical connections. |

Did you install the correct crankshaft position sensor plate? It's the round plate that gets bolted between the block and the flywheel, see pic. If you use one off the wrong engine combo, the ECM won't see the correct crankshaft signal, this results in a crank no start.
Like blsfrs said, what engine did you install? Did it come from a 2013 -216 model, or something newer? Are you sure everything is connected? Your other electrical issues sound like something has been missed... Is the starter ground attached? It bolts to one of the two starter mounting bolts, come from the negative battery terminal. The two engine grounds? Bottom of the head to frame rail on both sides? All 3 connectors from the body to the engine harness?

Don't forget all 3 bolts for the DI ECU too. That'll cause issues.

That sounds bad in a non-electrical way.
