That airbag is going to be your biggest issue. Those things cost a fortune to replace. Aside from that I'd guess you're looking at 1-2 grand at a shop :-/

That was a hard hit. My guess is in the 8-10k range for a shop to do. The rear tire shouldn't be angled like that, indicating damage at both ends.

Yep, that airbag replacement is going to be expensive.

I'd say you will be looking at between $1,000 - 3,000 for the body work (excluding the airbag) and about the same for the suspension/wheel work.

However, it should fix up to be just fine -

Ow. I really feel for you. If you cant afford to have it fixed I would take the opportunity to get dirty and do some work yourself. All those suspension bits can be found second hand, (I'd say you need new tie rods, new front and rear lower control arms) and can be replaced with basic tools and half a brain.

Hopefully subframes aren't damaged. Hard to tell the extent without having it on a lift.

You might be able to find a second hand airbag and replace it yourself. The SMS computers can be reprogrammed in these cars but any shop will likely insist it gets replaced. If the front bumper is cracked it'll likely be 600ish to fix that. Not sure on that side skirt. Might be more cost effective to get aftermarket skirts and just cover that damage. As far as structural, front and rear lower control arms, front tie rod end, possibly your coilovers, probably rear toe arm. All the arms can be had second hand pretty cheap as possible replace them with adjustable components

Yah that wont be cheap.... definitely a couple grand in body work. We are all just guessing at the suspension work. Something small can throw your alignment off a lot so they will pry replace a few things.

Is the back wheel tilted wrong as well or just photo angle?

it looks fooked to me.

the rear tire looks angled (if the photo isnt skewed), the front tire looks angled and caved in (assuming the front bumper isnt just popped out to the side), and your airbags are deployed (im guessing not just the side one, but the steering wheel too?)

I bet close to write-off if not already.

If you had insurance, it would be a write off. Good future lesson, don’t drive a car worth over $3-5k without personal coverage.

You’d honestly be better trying to sell her off, auction, or part out.

If you can source lightly used parts, do all the suspension work yourself, and live with the cosmetic damage. Then you could be in for about $1k for exterior fixes. Hard to tell airbag damage from pics. If you can pull everything from a scrap yard car and install it yourself it won’t be that expensive. Probably $2000 all in for a DIY inclined individual. Probably $8k for a shop to get her back to 100%. Maybe as cheap as $5k if you can live with certain cosmetic flaws and wheels/tires are still useable.

Between the obvious rim damage, suspension damage, air bag deployment, and body damage that you can see in the photos, the repair cost is already going to be at or beyond the cost of the car. That doesn't take into account the things that aren't visible, but are likely also busted up. Unless you're strongly sentimental about it, I would strongly advise you consider moving on from this one. I did something similar to this in my old 3-series, and had to come to terms with it as well. I was fortunate enough to have comprehensive at the time.

As soon as you see any car with all of these:
1.)a damaged rim from impact
2.)deployed airbags
3.)obvious major suspension damage
...you can bet that the impact was hard enough to total the vehicle. Keep in mind cars like this are made to collapse during impact to absorb the energy, they are not built like a tank, and that's on purpose. This means lots of things get damaged in an impact with speed, up to and including frame components. Based on your photos, there looks to have been enough speed involved to do exactly that.

An airbag deployment alone is enough to total most older cars and make it not worth it to repair even if insurance isn't involved.

You might be able to get a decent return from somebody looking to make a serious track car - airbags and cosmetics not interesting, suspension gonna be upgraded anyway. Biggest concern would be subframe/frame damage, but hopefully the wheels and suspensions took the brunt of the impact.

Yeah I was trying to say when you see all three, the assumption is pretty safe. Definitely could've phrased that better on my end.
