Is the OEM clutch EXEDY?
I just dropped my trans and saw exedy stamped on my clutch disc. Is that the OEM clutch? My friend's BRZ clutch feels way different, maybe this is why

Both 86 and BRZ have Exedy clutches as far as I know. If your friend's clutch feel is way different maybe bleed the clutch or adjust the catch point.
