Got mine out of pure luck!

Scheduled to pick up a WRB limited MT on August 23.
Originally I had ordered a WRB on 6/9, had second thoughts and changed it to CBS the following week. I emailed SoA for an update with my Von just to see if I'd get any feedback. I sent them my original 6/9 Von and got the wrong car in the email. I called my dealership (Gillman of Houston) and asked for the new Von. He gave it to me and also told me that somebody couldn't wait for the car because they were being stationed elsewhere so the car was up for grabs and that if I wanted it I could have it. I took it instantly! Can't wait to get it!

Someone backed out of one last Friday that they pre-ordered and I was at the dealer Saturday and notice it when I took my STi in for service, left in the BRZ

yes it was, and john is my rep too. it was just by luck that i contacted him today that i got it

Oh yes, that is how you snap it. One of among many best interesting car purchase story I have ever heard in the history of buying a car in the US soil ever . It only happen in this forum !

lol he told me about that guy who was stationed somewhere else for work and had to get his deposit back when i was asking about the non-refundable deposit which made me realize that it was probably the same sales rep. do you know when that vehicle was ordered? when i ordered mine he told me august, but clearly that order was placed before mine and its coming in aug 23 so mine will probably not even get here in august

no idea. im probably going to ask him that when i meet with him in 2 weeks. hes going on vacation next week and i briefly talked to him today because i was just to excited lol. he also gave me august-september on the vehicle that i ordered

The only reason i got mine was because The guy that had a deposit on it had bad credit or something like that. The dealer called me and told me it had my name on it. When in the next day and picked it up! Totally worth being 2 hours late for work!!!

I think this ranks up there with the lucky comment. I mentioned to my out-of-state son that I would be backing out of my 4/18 order because Subaru could not give me an ETA at the end of July other than "trending to Sept or later". He went past the Subaru dealer 2 miles from his apartment, and then immediately called to say they were unloading a BRZ off the truck. I immediately called and found it not only was unclaimed, but exactly what I wanted as to MT, trim, and accessories. The GBS in the avatar pic now sits in my garage.
