Clutch, TOB, or other?

I have a 2015 Scion FR-S, bought new, now with 154,000 miles. I have/had a 30-miles each way commute, driving ~30K miles per year, hitting 150K in March. Since March, just 4000 miles due to the zombie apocalypse.

The engagement point for the clutch seems to suddenly be much closer to the floorboards. This seemed to have pretty sudden onset, and appears to be getting worse with (light) continued use.

My previous vehicle was a Saturn SC2, where the first clutch lasted 160K miles, and the second 200K (replaced at 360K miles).

I'm assuming this is the clutch failing, but could it be just the TOB, or something simpler/cheaper than a clutch replacement? What should I have my guy look for? If I replace the clutch, I plan to go OEM.

Hi ya, trvth -

With 154,000 miles on your clutch system, it may very well have used up itself and needs to be replaced.

However, before you do that you may wish to bleed the clutch system and put in new fluid. Then you may consider adjusting the clutch.

^^ Yeah if you haven't bled the clutch system that would be the first thing I'd do before throwing a few hundred dollars at it.
